Images of lighthouse ‘Highland Light’ (also known as ‘Cape Cod Light’) on the Cape Cod National Seashore in North Truro, Cape Cod, Massachusetts. The oldest lighthouse on Cape Cod built in 1797 and its construction was authorized by President George Washington; original wood structure was replaced with brick lighthouse in 1833, which was rebuilt in 1857 (present structure).
