M/Y ‘TOP FIVE’

M/Y ‘Top Five’

M/Y ‘Top Five’ was built in 2005 by American shipyard Christensen Shipyards. A modern and luxurious full displacement yacht with a GRP hull and superstructure, she features exterior design and naval architecture by Christensen Shipyards and the interior work of Carol Williamson. This twin screw yacht measures 47.85 meters and can accommodate up to 12 guests.

M/Y ‘Top Five’ was previously known as Liquidity and was the third by that name to be built for telecommunications entrepreneur Henry Luken. A fishing enthusiast, Luken ensured his vessel was equipped to cater for his passion with a custom designed tackle locker on the aft deck.

Sophisticated stonework is a feature of the luxury yacht and chosen materials include malachite and Juparana persa granite. The interior theme is all about fine detail, with raised-panel joinery of American walnut with high gloss finish and expertly color-matched wood panels and veneers. Lighter tones are used for the furnishings. She is powered by two MTU 12V 4000 engines that allow her to reach a maximum speed of 17.5 knots. She can achieve a range of 4,500 nautical miles while cruising at a speed of 15 knots.

The Vessel was usually available for rent in the Caribbean with a US$200,000 per week rent. She’s presently reported available for sale with an asking price of US$ 22,000,000.

The images of M/Y ‘HARMONY’ were taken at North Cove in Lower Manhattan, in late July 2014. North Cove is within a minute’s stroll from the offices of Karatzas Marine Advisors at One World Financial Center, which building can be seen in the background in a couple of the pictures posted herewith.

WESTPORT 164 | 50 METERS

An Exceptional Achievement In Large Yacht Design

Westport’s new flagship, the 164 tri-deck accommodates twelve guests in unsurpassed luxury. A vessel as prized for the artistry of its contours as for the substance of its construction, the Westport 164 represents an exceptional landmark achievement in large yacht design.

Developed using leading-edge three-dimensional modeling and structural software applications also used in the aviation industry, this new yacht has met every objective for speed, ride, maneuverability, integrity, quality and classing capability. As with every Westport yacht, the 164 delivers the uncommon luxuries of predictable performance, on-time delivery and a full complement of equipment and features for immediate enjoyment.

Westport’s design and engineering teams have collaborated with world-renowned designer Donald Starkey and prominent naval architect William Garden to develop a refined hull form for exceptional ocean-going performance, an innovative accommodation plan which balances interior and on-deck spaces for maximum enjoyment and versatility, and a contemporary styling that ensures lasting appeal.

The six-stateroom layout with on-deck full-beam master suite affords everyone a luxurious private retreat incorporating the finest fabrics, cabinetry, stone and leathers. An innovative arrangement includes a top-deck VIP suite with its own sun deck, a large formal dining room adjacent to the commercial-grade galley, and a garage aft for tenders and water toys. Designed for entertaining and relaxed socializing, the salon opens to a large covered aft deck with lounge, conversation areas and wet bar.

Twin MTU 16V4000 diesels drive the Westport 164 to mid-20 knot top speeds, and throttle back to deliver transoceanic range. ABS-classed and MCA-compliant, the 164 is equally well suited for private use or charter service.

M/Y ‘RASSELAS’

Motor Yacht ‘RASSELAS’

M/Y ‘Rasselas’ is a 62m motor yacht, custom built in 2005 by Feadship in Aalsmeer (Netherlands). This classic superyacht can trace her ancestry to a number of iconic boats such as Paraffin and Gallant Lady, as well as her earlier namesake, also built for the same American owner. The vessel’s sophisticated exterior design and engineering are the work of De Voogt Naval Architects. Her designers, De Voogt, placed special emphasis on creating an extraordinary top deck and outer areas for the yacht. With a classic mahogany interior she is one of the last major yachts with an interior made from this tropical wood.
Rasselas yacht has a steel hull with a aluminum superstructure with a beam of 10.70m  (35’1″ft) and a 3.50m  (11’5″ft) draft .

Performance + Capabilities: MY ‘Rasselas’ has a cruising speed of 13.00 knots, max speed of 16.00 knots and a range of 5000.00 nm. from her 138,000.00l. fuel tanks. A powerful propulsion package of twin 2,000hp Caterpillar engines gives her a cruising speed of 14 knots and she tops out at 16 knots.

Accommodations: M/Y ‘Rasselas’ offers accommodation for up to 14 guests in 6 suits comprising 1 owner cabin, 3 double cabins, 2 twin cabins. She is also capable of carrying up to 19 crew onboard to ensure a relaxed luxury yacht experience.

M/Y ‘Rasselas’ was sold in June 2014 when she was in the market with an asking price $57.5 million; she’s to renamed M/Y ‘Positive Carry’ by her new owner, who intends to cruise her around the world. Both seller and buyer were US-based entrepreneurs.

The images of M/Y “Rasselas’ were taken at North Cove in Lower Manhattan, in late July 2014.
